The problem is with connectivity, blocked ports and firewall. In order to access your Home Stream Player, your Home needs to be routed through a public IP address. If you're using a router at home, you will need to set up port forwarding rules to the stream server. I believe that from the distance you can't do pretty much as you will need local access to configure these things.
