What data and information does Software Informer Client collect and sent?

commented by (120 points)
So... It provides no information about the legitimacy of update requests? If it doesn't do this, I have no use for it.  I am trying to protect myself from drive-by and spoof download requests.  I already receive update requests and notices of available updates.

The client collects data about your operating system and versions regarding installed applications. Then it compares them to the data on the remote servers and deliver notifications about updated software which you can download.
