Click "Start", open "Control Panel" and select "Add or Remove Programs". A page will open with all the applications installed to your computer, including Sweetpacks Toolbar. If you do not find the application on the list try to reinstall your browser.

Try this if you have AVG PC Tune Up or another product that includes both a software remover and registry clean up. Don't reboot between any of the steps.
1. Manually remove the program called "simbo" from your computer by finding it in your folders. That alone won't solve the problem -- it will keep replicating whenever you reboot. Also, it won't show up in a search of programs by that name or in a search for SweetPacks. I found it under [My User Name]/AppData/Local/Temp.
2. Use PC Tune Up's software removal feature (not the Control Panel) to remove SweetPacks or anything with a similar name.
3. Run PC Tune Up's registry clean up. Apparently without the program associated with it, it will detect the SweetPacks registry malware as an extraneous registery item and allow you to delete it.

I also cannot figure out how to uninstall Sweetpacks. I open Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs, but nothing with Sweetpacks or related names appears. After I change all my internet settings back to original, Sweetpacks still overrides my settings and makes itself the default search engine. Is PC Tune Up the best program to manage 'malware' like this?

This worked for me ( "can't uninstall sweetpacks update" ). I have windows xp. I went to start/search/says what u want to search for / go to all files and folder / type in sweetpack or sweetpacks / it gives u where it is found . mine was in c/windows\prefetch and the numbers was 6 2 6 2 0 3 exe.. So I went to start / my computer / local Disk c / windows (its a folder ) then to PREFETCH / There i found about 12 downloads of sweet pack and some different names but all mine had the same date 6/30/13 at 2:44 am. The date show when you put cursor (pointer) over each them. I tried to delete them but that didn't work. So I went To go back on my computer, to go back to the date before they were installed, which was 6/29/13. With windows xp go to start/ help and support/undo change to computer with sytem restore / restore my computer to earlier date / then choice a date before sweetpack was installed. These step did remove from my add and remove programs sweetpacks update. But when I went back to c/windows\prefetch they were still in there so I deleted all that had the date 6/30/13 2:44am. and after that, I deleted them from my recycle bin also.

Internet Explorer 4.4 did not see a release. According to the official version history from Wikipedia this version does not exist. However, you should re-install a new version of the Internet Explorer then you can follow the removal guide for Internet Explorer toolbars:

Internet Explorer: open Tools → Manage Add-ons. Select the intended toolbar and press Disable.

I accidentally got the "Internet Explorer Toolbar by Sweetpacks", and no matter what I did or TRIED to do it would NOT allow me to remove the program out of my add/remove program list! I downloaded the TRIAL (free) version of Revo Uninstaller Pro, and that program found ALL the hidden Sweetpack, SweetIM **** and allowed me to remove it all. Then it allowed me to force an uninstall and I am SO glad to say it is GONE from my pc. I was about ready to shoot myself in the face I was getting SO MAD at my PC!!!! Grrr!! LOLOL!!!! If you're having probs uninstalling sweetpacks, try this. I am SO far from being computer-smart and I ran the program just fine. I'm sure anyone can do it easily. Good luck all! :-)

This toolbar can be easily deleted from your computer with a capable application that was created for this type of operation. Download a copy of the AdwCleaner application through the application's page at Software Informer and run it. Accept the agreement then click on Scan. Wait for the application to scan all the files and known places where Sweetpack might be installed and when it's finished, simply click on Clean. Wait again (5-10 seconds) and reboot the computer. Because it's a malware toolbar, it should be removed and the Internet Explorer (no matter the version used) should be clean and ready for browsing.
