ChromisPoS Administration stuck on loading screen

I installed Chromis as a PoS system for a small family-owned shop.

I set up all prerequisite software and used TerminalConfig to test connection to the local server. Then used DbCreator to initialize a database for the PoS on the server, it also reported success.

When I opened the PoS system, there wasn't an option to add any items/products to the menu, even when logged in as a manager or an administrator. Turns out this functionality requires the admin to log in via the separate ChromisAdministration app, but when I start the app it gets stuck on the loading screen even if I leave it there for hours.

I tried installing the PoS system on a different laptop but it still gets stuck all the same. I also tried using different server software (MySQL Workbench 8, HeidiSQL, USBWebserver 8.5 and 8.6), they all successfully connect to the PoS and allow for creation of a database (using MySQL and MariaDB), but the Administration app still gets stuck when I try to start it.

I googled the issue and the only lead I found was a 2023 thread on this site, but it seems it wasn't resolved back then. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As for addressing the issue with ChromisPOS Administration:

This kind of loading issue may be caused by various factors. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check System Requirements: Ensure that the system you are using meets the minimum requirements for running ChromisPOS and ChromisAdministration.

  2. Java Version: ChromisPOS is typically dependent on Java. Make sure you have the correct Java version installed. Chromis often requires Java 8, so try uninstalling other versions and installing the correct one if necessary.

  3. Database Connection: Double-check your database connection settings. Ensure that the database server is running and accessible from the system where the ChromisAdministration app is installed.

  4. Log Files: Check any available log files for ChromisPOS or ChromisAdministration for errors that could give clues about what might be going wrong.

  5. Firewall Settings: Ensure that any firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the ChromisAdministration app or the database connection.

  6. Admin Privileges: Run the ChromisAdministration app with administrator privileges by right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator".

  7. Reinstall: As a last resort, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Chromis Administration app to ensure there are no corrupted files.

  8. Community and Support Forums: Check the ChromisPOS community forums or any online support forums. There might be users who have faced similar issues and can offer solutions.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be helpful to contact ChromisPOS support directly for specialized assistance.
