It all depends on the environment. If you have a Windows box, you will need to either set up the application as a service or add it to Startup folder from the Start menu. In Linux, things are a bit different. You can either add the path of the application you want to run after server reboot to /etc/init.d/rc.local. Since it's a text file, you can use the local text editor or schedule the application using the cron command.
