Since this is a USB device and it's using drivers and software for its functionality then it means it can be re-installed using its own software. If you don't want to re-install the software, please go to Device Manager and check for any yellow exclamation marks. Most likely, your USB device is not properly installed because of an error. Right click it and use Update Driver. If you have a newer operating system you can use Windows Update to search for drivers.
