Data Execution Prevention program closes my Tom Tom device updates

Question

I get a message that says Data Execution Prevention program has closed my updates every time I hook up my Tom Tom device to the Internet. Any suggestions?

Try turning DEP down a notch: click Start, pick Run, enter sysdm.cpl. Switch to the Advanced tab, click Settings in the Performance area. Pick the Data Execution Prevention tab and click the upper radio button (which should enable DEP only for essential programs and services).
