The application dates back to 2003 when Windows 8 was not even released. That was the timeline when Windows XP began to merge across the world. You can try to obtain a new version of the software, but I doubt it will work since the application is no longer developed. If you really need the program, roll back Windows 8 installation and return to the operating system that you knew the application works.
