To break it down for you, there won't be any free application that will allow you to convert the OST file to something else. That's the case with the Aryson OST to PST Converter as well.

All the applications will work up to some possibility of converting, but the chances of success are limited especially when the OST files are corrupted or contain errors.

Also, use the Export function found in the Outlook application and save the files in every way possible because that's the way to increase the compatibility.

You may try another safe and reliable third party OST Recovery tool to convert OST file along with its all items to well-known Outlook PST file format. The tool also allow users to recover inaccessible or permanently deleted files and items such as emails, contacts, attachments, calendars, notes, etc. just in a few mouse clicks.
