I've analyzed the official description of MediaStory on its website and it appears that it doesn't have anything about the audio distortion which means the cause to this issue is probably the audio files that you have loaded into application. There is somewhere mentioned that MediaStory will adjust audio noise, but that's the closest thing to audio processing.
I recommend checking your audio files to see how they play in other media players and then add them into MediaStory.
