Yes, the software can be used with a laser machine because it has a CAD/CAM Output mode which allows you to export your designs for laser-cut machines.
However, that function might need the full version of the software. Also, the price is a little too high, therefore I recommend getting the demo first to see how it works and then decide to purchase Design -2D Design v2 or not.
