I've tried what you said and indeed, the software doesn't display anything because it can't detect the adapters. I've tried everything including compatibility tweaks and changing the settings. You will need another application and luckily, there are plenty available for this procedure.
You can try another application which inherits the same name: Bandwidth Meter Pro.
