I've received the following error when HP Precision Scan Pro was used: "ActiveX component can't create object: 'Chassis.ChassisHelpObject'".

The software requires Administrator launching the first time after it's installed. Go to Start > Control Panel and remove the software through the Uninstall a Program or access its uninstaller directly if you know where it is (typically in Program Files). Remove the software completely, reboot the PC and then start the installation, but this time, right click the package and choose Run As Administrator. Complete the installation procedure, and launch the software when it's finished just like you previously did and it will start normally.

Alas, HP defied MS and won. Windows 10 is quite happy with the HP 4470C hardware, but nothing, setting compatability mode to WxpSP3 and running as administrator and disabling Windows image aquisition (as suggested by another user) would change the errors. I have moved the scanner to second computer that will not be upgraded from WXP.
