Just like you mentioned, this is a problem related to compatibility between your application and Windows 10 operating system. There are still apps available on the Internet that haven't been properly updated to support Windows 10. You can apply a compatibility tweak to the main executable. Right click it, go to Properties > Compatibility and select Windows 8/Windows 8.1 from the list. Tick the Run as Administrator as well and then launch the application.
I have also checked and this is the only version of the software. The official website lists exactly the version you have on your PC.
