OpenFOAM - Sequence of opening programs and error messages.

If I understand correctly, one must run the OFEnvCreate program first, then run OpenFOAMStart. The first of these runs several scripts, which runs Boot2Docker. This produces an error; "Access to the registry key "HKEYLOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PowerShell\1\ShellIds\Microsoft.PowerShell" is denied.

The set of scripts does not fully execute, and OpenFOAMStart doesn't either. I was able to capture the above error message by using the Pause/Break button, but the window from OpenFOAMStart closes so fast there's no time to capture it.

Thanks for your time! Can you provide a couple quick tips to correct this error and move on?

The error above is related to registry and permissions. Open Registry Editor using Start > Run > regedit and then navigate to the path that's denied. Keep in mind that this requires you to be an Administrator on the system.

Once you are in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PowerShell tree menu, right click it and choose Permissions. Select and add your account, grant it "Full Control" privileges and close it. Restart the PC and then try again. The application should work without this issue.
