Pro Surveillance System is fully supported on Windows 8. You shouldn't encounter any display issues. If you upgraded to Windows 8 without a clean installation you should reinstall PSS because an upgrade of Windows comes with all the registry entries and the junk files that you had on the previous operating system. Try to use Revo Uninstaller for removal, this software will clean every trace of PSS from your system, and the new installation should work just fine. If that doesn't solve your problem, consider checking for updates for your graphics card.
