The USSD option needs to be present in the modem configuration tool. If the applications lacks this feature, then I recommend you contact the ones you got the modem from. The modem will also need additional firmware flashing to enable the USSD option or the option isn't supported at all. If you have it installed, go to Help > Contents to check if the USSD can be enabled or not.

Enabling the USSD feature and switching between network modes (such as EVDO, hybrid, or 1x) on your mobile device may vary depending on your phone model and the mobile carrier you are using. USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) codes are typically used for various service interactions with your carrier, such as checking your balance or changing network settings. Here are some general steps you can follow:

1. Check Your Phone Model:
- Ensure that your phone supports the USSD code for switching network modes. Not all phones have this capability, and it can vary by manufacturer and model.

2. Find the USSD Code:
- Contact your mobile carrier or visit their official website to find the specific USSD code for switching between network modes. These codes are carrier-specific and may change over time.

3. Dial the USSD Code:
- Open the phone app on your device.
- Dial the USSD code for switching network modes. It typically starts with a "#" combination followed by numbers and ends with "#." For example, "##12345##*."

4. Follow the Prompts:
- After dialing the USSD code, you should see a menu or receive a series of prompts on your screen.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to switch to the desired network mode (hybrid, 1x, etc.).

5. Restart Your Phone:
- After completing the process, it's a good practice to restart your phone to ensure that the changes take effect.

Please note that not all carriers and phone models support switching between network modes via USSD codes. In some cases, these settings may be locked by your carrier or not accessible on certain devices. If you're unable to find the USSD code or change the network mode using this method, you may need to contact your carrier's customer support for assistance or check if your phone has any specific limitations in this regard.

Remember to be cautious when using USSD codes, as they can initiate various actions related to your carrier's services. Make sure you're using the correct code provided by your carrier to avoid any unintended changes to your account or device settings.
