Due to the reset issue, the phone is now stuck in a "bootloop". The term is given to phones that can't get past the boot logo. However, you will have to factory reset it and since the "desktop" can't be accessed, you'll have to do it the manual way. Turn the phone off, then press Volume UP + Home button + Power Button until the Android logo appears. Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset with volume buttons and confirm with Power. Reboot the phone and wait until it comes back and that's it.
