How can the download of SPSS be free?

Pardon my skepticism, but how is it possible to download a very expensive program like SPSS for free and have it run properly without the keycode information that you receive when you purchase it? I just ran across this website and it seems too good to be true. An explanation of how this is possible would be much appreciated.

If you browse the application's page at Software Informer, you will see on the left side menu the word Shareware under the License Type. This means the product is not free and you will actually have to purchase it. You can download a demo/trial version of the software, but to enjoy all its features, purchasing is mandatory.
