No sound will play when I select the Play button and the sheet music does not highlight as it normally would along with the music either. I then attempted to select a single chord to play and a message appeared saying: "Problem with MIDI player - A device ID has been used that is out of range for you system." It used to work fine and I haven't changed anything on my computer. Also when I select the volume button, nothing occurs. When I hover over the Play tab, the volume is deselected so I can not manipulate it from there either. How can I get my music to play again?

There must be a problem with the sound devices installed in your computer. Go to Device Manager (Start > Run > devmgmt.msc) and make sure that MIDI is installed. Expand the Game section and make sure the MIDI is installed correctly. Additionally, re-install the sound driver because even though it looks as being installed correctly, you will have problems in case it's frozen.

Go to Start > Run > Services.msc and locate Windows Audio on the list, then right click it and select Restart and then try playing a new file. If everything is done correctly, it should play normally.

Maybe the button is broken up. You'd better pick it up to the repairing store. Or you can remove all the music and then add into again and see how it reacts.

I agree with Sean Hill, and re-install driver is a possible way to fix this.
