Do I need drivers to use PowerDirector 12 Delux on Windows 8?

Do I need drivers to use this on Windows 8? Can I view the video as it is being recorded and how? From VHS recorder to computer I am using WinFAST Palmtop DTV200 which also doesn't want to work on PD12. Can you advise?
