Can I download the above Synaptics Pointing Device app or is it compatible with my Acer Aspire One D270-1865 Windows 7 Starter? If it is, can you show me how to install it?

Yes, you can download the Synaptics Package but in order to do that, first visit the Acer Support website and enter the product model into the search field then select the operating system installed in your computer and wait for the page to load. Scroll down and download the Synpatics driver.
