If the driver did not successfully installed, I recommend you going to the Device Manager. Locate the item in the list and uninstall it then perform a refresh by pressing the F5 button and wait for the item to be detected. When it's detected, right click it and select Update driver and use the manual installing way. Point the window to the Program Files > Xerox folder and wait for finish.
Once this process completes, turn on the device and start scanning. You also need the software from the official website to work with the device.
