Dell Webcam CentralDell Webcam Central ›  Receiving error message: "Plug in a supported device".

It worked well for a long time, but recently I've received a message saying that I have to plug in a supported device. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

If you receive this message, then the error can be caused by two factors:

  1. The device (webcam) you use is faulty and needs to be replaced by warranty.

  2. The driver for the webcam is missing, therefore you can't use it. Go to Start > Run > devmgmt.msc and locate the device (while it's plugged in). It should be listed in yellow. Right click it and choose Update Driver. Let Windows install all the necessary files and then disconnect and connect the device again.
