After I installed Canon MP Navigator and attempted to scan a document I got this error message: "MP Navigator corresponding to the printer you intend to use may not be installed correctly. Reinstall MP Navigator and try again". Well I have reinstalled it several times and it doesn't help. What should I do now?

Go to this link http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support and download and install the corresponding printer network driver for your device, the software and the Navigator for your OS.

If you are having the error "MP navigator corresponding to the printer you intend to use, may not be installed correctly. Re-install MP navigator, and then try again" after installing/upgrading to WIN 7 OR Vista, you need to complete one more step.

In addition to installing the correct driver from Canon, you need to download and install Canon's MP Navigator. Many of us are fooled because successfully installing the driver only will allow you to use the wireless printer features and successfully print a test page. It is only when you go to wireless scan a document that you get this error. Why they don't add this in their support forums is a mystery.

Thanks !  This was the answer for my problem when going from Win 7 to Win 10.  Software now installed and all working.  I had a feeling something was missing, but couldn't find the right downloads.  Took a bit of digging on the Canon website, but got there in the end !

Had the same problem and this worked for me

Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
sfc /scannow
The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.
