The InstallShield doesn't have anything to do with the game's functionality. If you managed to install the game correctly, then the problem is somewhere else (most likely with your computer or OS). My advice is to right click the application then choose Properties > Compatibility. Select Windows XP from the list and close it. Right click it again and choose Run as Administrator. If you still have problems after these operations, re-install the application, but this time make sure you have launched the installer as Administrator.
