When I go to Google Play Store, it says it needs background data. After I've synced everything, it still doesn't work. What should I do?

You are awesome anonymous. This worked. I didn't have to hit clear data, but the force stop worked perfectly.

What worked for me was clearing my device RAM. That killed it even though in my active apps Google play wasn't listed.

Happened intermittently to me thou I have background enabled. Sometimes would launch from apps menu when wouldn't from desktop icon. Started for me after I turned off automatic updates. That backlog might have created caching or "clear data" issue.

I have been facing this problem ,i tried force stop procedure , but the problem still persists whenever i opened play store in different time intervals , every time i had to force stop it . so i was fed up of doing that and found out the ultimate solution which which would remove this annoying problem forever is by un-installing the updates on playstore and switching back to the basic playstore version which was installed when you first brought your handset.

Believe me , i haven't faced that issue after that . and my playstore is working awesome

This worked. I was afraid I'd lose apps or things because the warnings sound scary. But nothing lost. Everything was fine.
