When inserted in the Spreadstrum mobile phone, the SIM card doesn't get connected to the network. Can you explain why?

You are trying to use an unsupported SIM card. This happens when the phone is locked to a network only. Please visit your local phone service where you can unlock your mobile to use the SIM card you have plugged in.
