My screen is blinking: it only says the name of the computer

I don't know what that means. Could you help please?

Please restart your computer and enter Safe mode by continuously pressing F8 after the boot process finishes. Once you are in Safe Mode, go to Start > Run > type msconfig and go to Startup tab. From that location, please uncheck all the entries that are unfamiliar and restart your computer. Also, if you know that you've installed any recent applications, then this could be a cause for your problem and I recommend immediate uninstallation.

Please check the msconfig in Safe Mode as suggested. If unable to understand, check under the system elements on the msconfig, it will help you to check the startup configs.
