How do you temporarily disable Modeshift?

I am trying to download the lastest Adobe flash player and it gets to 50% before telling me to please close Modeshift to continue.

You are trying to install Adobe Flash Player but the Modeshift application is using its libraries and that's why you encounter that error. Please press CTRL+ALT+DEL, go to Processes and locate Modeshift executable on the list. Right click it and kill the process.
