Can I do a hard reset of my UMX Max phone?

0 votes

I can't get past the android screen. All it does is loop. I took it back to the store but due to a small crack in the screen, they wouldn't give me a replacement. The phone worked fine for 9 days before it decided to act up. Is there anyway that I can either reload the Android operating system or do a hard reset of the device through my PC?

Any help would be appreciated. I really can't afford a new phone.

Usually, it can be done without a PC at hand: power off your phone, hold down the volume down key and turn on the phone (keep holding both the power and the volume down button until it boots up). It should switch on into some sort of maintenance mode: you should see a triangle icon and a plain-looking menu. Navigate to Factory Reset using the volume down key and press Power button once to activate the selected item.

The 'service' button may differ on UMX Max (more often than not it's the volume down key, that's why I've suggested trying it first), so if the 'Android System Recovery' menu doesn't show up, try holding down the Camera button or the Menu button when powering up the phone.

As for doing it from the PC: you will need Android SDK, which comes with a utility called Android Debug Bridge (ADB). You will just need to connect your phone to the PC, fire up the command prompt (Start -> Run -> Enter cmd -> Press Enter), navigate to the 'Tools' folder of the Android SDK installation (by means of writing something like cd C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\Tools), and run the following command: adb shell reboot recovery.

I can't send out text messages in the green message box on my u670c Android net 10 phone. It has a Red triangle with an exclamation point in it. I can only send a message out with the mms and that takes off 3 minutes of my friends phones.

Press and hold power & vol down until it boots up,press back button then vol down to factory reset, (third line down) press the menu button.it will flash on a different screen but you wont be able to catch it in time to do anything so>>>
After you do the hard reset & you have a white screen that does nothing. Pull the battery again, now put the battery back in & power up the phone, when the blue screen comes up press the volume down and power buttons again. you should get a different screen with the droid on it press the droid & it takes you to the refreshed start screen enter your info and enjoy.
