The best and easiest way in my opinion is to launch your PC into safe mode (With windows 7 I think you hit F8 while it is booting) which starts Windows with the bare minimum programs to make your PC work. It will look like **** but don't worry. Find where Strongvault has embedded itself and delete everything related to it. i had it in my "C:\Users\Corrie\AppData\Local\Strongvault Online Backup" as well as "C:\Program Files (x86)\Strongvault"

After you have deleted all things Strongvault you should be good. Restart your PC and it should launch normally without Strongvault.

Hope this helped.

I saw that stronvault was running in Task manager. I would end task, but it only came back on the next reboot. i read blogs, tried this, downloaded that, nothing worked!! GRRRRRR.

Microsoft Fixit didn't find it. My System Mechanic DID, but would not let me change the config to stop it from loading, so I found where it was living.

I have Windows 7. Thru Windows explorer, I found the Strongvault folder here: c:Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Strongvault Online backup. See if it's there on your computer. I just incinerated that whole Strongvault file .... no problem so far. i think it's gone. I guess if it can't find all of it's operating files, it can't run. HA!!

try that

Question I have Windows 8 it's a new computer and I have that pop up for online back up which I can see here is due to Strong Vault which I removed but I know now why it doesn't work. I tried the link

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

it's giving me this error:

We're sorry, but your operating system is not supported by Microsoft Fix it at this time.

What does it mean?? and how can I remove this pop up stuff if this link won't let me?

Any help would be appreciated

First you have to delete the actual folders in order to use MicrosoftFixit. [Start] > Type in [Strong Vault App] > Right click on the icon > Choose [Open File location] > Delete all related folders > Run MicrosoftFixit > Choose [Uninstall] > It's gone finally:)

I found that MS Fix-It worked. But, there where two programs in Fix-It program under the name of strong-vault only one of them could be successfully installed.
