I've tested what you've said above and indeed, the software crashes. Unfortunately, this is the behavior of a bug and needs to be reported to the developers. They should patch the app to fully support Hibernation mode or when the computer wakes up.
Luckily, the software is still available on the developer's website, therefore you can contact them.
