Yes, you can do that by connecting a VGA or HDMI cable from the laptop to the TV. Nowadays, most laptops have a HDMI output allowing you to have FULL HD quality on TV, but it's necessary for the TV to be Full HD supported as well. If this checks out, buy a HDMI cable and attach it to PC and TV in the HDMI In port. Use the remote control to switch between HDMI input modes and that's it.
If you have Windows 7 and above, press Windows + P to duplicate the screen of the laptop to the TV as well. The video card will do all the configuration as necessary.
