Is version 6.02 a free update to my version 5.01?

I was wondering if version 6.02 is a free update to my version 5.01? Do I need to update from the oldest to the newest?

Yes, the update is free if you purchased the application. This is even specified on the official website of the developer:

  • Lifetime free upgrade - You could upgrade the software for free.
