I believe the solution is related to the layout option available for your printer. If the content doesn't appear normally, then you can force it by ticking the option Fit to page which forces the content to fix on the selected page. You can also change the layout of the page using the same Printer Preferences menu, but you have to go to Advanced and then Layout to change it. This is the simplest and easier thing to do when the printer doesn't display the content as it should.
