What version of Windows Media Player do I download for Windows 7 64-bit computer?

I received the error that my computer is incompatible with Windows Media Player, but I know I had something before. I had viewed DVDs before. Now I can't find Windows Media Player on my computer anywhere. So what version do I download for my Windows 7 64-bit computer?

By default, Windows Media Player is bundled with the Windows operating system and it can be started using Start > Run > wmplayer. You can create a shortcut of the wmplayer file and launch Windows Media Player.

Also, WMP doesn't support many codecs for disc playback, therefore I recommend using other application for this purpose. For example, VLC Media Player is a good choice to play all your media on different storage mediums.
