I used the demo version of Easy Photo Uploader to transfer images as I shoot from my camera to a folder on the computer. I bought the latest version but am unable to do so now.
This could be a bug within the application's code or the communication is not established correctly between the software and the device. You should also check the drivers to see if the device is properly recognized in Windows through Start > Run > devmgmt.msc.
